And the AI battles continue
Which one do you work with?

The project Brief, Saturday, February 17th | Reading time: 6 minutes |

IN BRIEF…
Good Saturday.
Last week I mentioned the extent to which the biggest tech companies are trying to steal ChatGPT4's throne as "the best AI on the market today".
So I suggest you take a look at the tests I've organized over the past two weeks to confirm who, of all the AIs on the market, best meets the demands placed on them.
So what could be better than a small handwritten calendar to reproduce as faithfully as possible from a simple prompt?
The results are quite different depending on the AI used. But it's worth nothing that it's not the AIs from the biggest companies that are currently producing the best results.
Check it out and let me know what you think.
Enjoy your reading.

ABOUT PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Managing customer expectations: basic principles to know and apply for any project.

A significant challenge
Imagine the launch of an ambitious construction project: the creation of a luxury residential complex designed to redefine the urban landscape. The construction company, renowned for its ability to create architectural wonders, faces a demanding client, a visionary real estate developer eager for innovation and perfection. From the first meetings, the excitement is palpable. The developer presents a grand vision, with specific demands for cutting-edge ecological features and advanced technologies integrated into the design. The technical team, stimulated by this challenge, proposes innovative solutions, promising a project that will be the jewel of their portfolio. However, as the project takes shape, the complexity of the requirements and practical limitations begin to emerge, revealing a gap between the client's aspirations and the realities of the field.
The crucial importance of expectation management
Before diving into the details, let's understand why following expectation management techniques is crucial for the success of a project. In the construction sector, where variables and unforeseen events are common, the ability to align client expectations with the realities of construction is not only a skill but a strategic imperative. This avoids disappointments, misunderstandings, and, most importantly, costly conflicts. Adopting a structured approach to manage expectations from the beginning of the project ensures a solid foundation for collaboration, trust, and, ultimately, client satisfaction. Without special attention to this management, even the most promising projects risk going off track, tarnishing the company's reputation and jeopardizing future relationships with clients.
Transparency as a foundation
Transparency here means making all relevant information, good or bad, available to the client to understand the challenges encountered and the solutions proposed. It's about building a relationship based on trust and mutual respect, where expectations are clearly defined and regularly adjusted according to the project's evolution.
Under-promise and over-deliver: A winning strategy
Under-promising and over-delivering becomes a prudent strategy in this context. It involves setting realistic, perhaps even slightly conservative, goals to then exceed those expectations and impress the client. This creates a positive and memorable experience for the client, strengthening their trust in the project team and increasing the chances of future collaborations.
Overcommunication: key to managing expectations
Overcommunication is essential in an environment where the stakes are high and the details numerous. This means keeping communication lines open and active, ensuring that the client is regularly informed about the project's progress, problems encountered, and measures taken to resolve them. Frequent communication helps prevent misunderstandings and quickly adjust expectations if necessary.
Turning challenges into opportunities
Managing client expectations is not just about meeting their demands; it's about guiding the client through the construction process, offering a realistic vision of what can be achieved while exploring possibilities for innovation and excellence. In the example of the luxury residential complex, despite the challenges, an approach focused on transparency, under-promising and over-delivering, combined with overcommunication, could turn obstacles into opportunities to surpass the client's initial expectations and deliver a project that makes a lasting impression.

Who does it better?
In principle, an AI powered by Google should make short work of this exercise, shouldn't it?
